 Round Island Route – 12 Gardens by the Bay East – Alexandra Canal Water Paly Area (11.15Km)

The first phase of the Round Island Route was launched on 22 January 2022. Stretching across 75km, it covers the eastern half of Singapore and is the island’s longest recreational connection that encircles Singapore in the east.

Elgin Bridge 爱琴桥 - Elgin Bridge is a vehicular box girder bridge across the Singapore River was built between 1925 and 1929. The bridge was named after James Bruce, 8th Earl of Elgin in 1862, a colonial administrator and diplomat who had served as Governor-General of Canada and India.


Old Hill Street Police Station 旧禧街警察局 Historical landmark Completed 1934 The building has a total of 927 windows and they are painted in the colours of the rainbow>

Coleman Bridge 哥里门桥 - several features of the iron bridge such as the decorative lamp posts and iron railings were incorporated into the current structure in December 1987, in recognition of its historical significance. Coleman Bridge is known as yi ma lo khiu or "the bridge at the second road" in Cantonese>

Ord Bridge 渥桥 - The Ord Bridge was built in 1886 to replace a demolished footbridge known as the ABC Bridge. The steel truss bridge was named after Colonel Sir Harry St. George Ord (18191885), the first British Governor of the Straits Settlements (18671873) after it was given the Crown Colony status>

Clemenceau Bridge 克里门梳桥 - The first bridge was opened in 1940 and was refurbished in 1991. It was named after French Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau, who visited Singapore in 1920>

Alkaff Bridge 阿卡夫桥 - The steel truss bridge is 55 metres in length and weighs about 230 tonnes. It is shaped like a tongkang (a light boat used commonly in the early days to carry goods along rivers), and is situated near the former Alkaff Quay.


Pulau Saigon Bridge 浮罗西贡桥 - The 43m-long bridge was constructed in 1997, The original Pulau Saigon Bridge was built in 1890, and demolished in 1986 as it blocked the development of the Central Expressway>

Jiak Kim Bridge 若锦桥 - Constructed in 1999, it was named after Tan Jiak Kim (陈若锦), grandson of famous merchant and philanthropist Tan Kim Seng and son of Tan Beng Swee (陈明水). He is also a prominent Straits-born Chinese merchant and political activist during the early 19th century>
