Getting There:

MRT Siglap (TE28) Exit 3

 

Check Point 1: Former Coastline

Colonial architecture influences can be seen in the well-preserved seawall near Nallur Road - Old seawalls, sea pavilions, and bungalow homes (like those at Nallur Road) remain as landmarks, indicating where the sea once met the land before vast stretches of sand were added.

Walk along Nallur Road and cross Upper East Coast Road

Turn Right and walk along East Coast Road, Cross Bedok South Ave 1

Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy 新加坡福建会馆文化学院

Singapore’s First Cultural Academy offer pre -school education, afterschool care,  adult, humanities and cultural programs, with a focus on Chinese culture.

Check Point 2: Sennett Road

A residential area named after C.W.A. Sennett, a former Commissioner of Lands who established a property development firm in the late 1940s.

Walk along East Coast Road cross Bedok South Ave 3

Check Point 3: Military Landmarks in the East

Named after the distinctive red clay of its cliffs that formerly fronted the sea, used to function as a strategically located headland both to spot approaching enemies and as a friendly lookout.

Walk along Bedok South Ave 3 cross Bedok South Road

Turn Right onto Upper Changi Road (Walk toward MRT Taman Merah (EW4))

Before MRT Taman Merah (EW4) turn right up the stairs toward Jalan Limau Kasturi

Check Point 4: Highlands of Bedok

Land reclamation project at Bedok carried out by using budget wheel excavators and a conveyor belt

Walk backward toward MRT Taman Merah (EW4), Down the stairs and walk along Upper Changi Road until road junction.

Turn left and Cross Upper Changi Road and New Upper Changi Road along Bedok Road.

Check Point 5: Simpang Bedok (Simpang Bedok & Koh Sek Lim Banner).
