LTA (New Rules) – Using of Footpaths adjacent to Cycling Paths (2025 0701)

Effective Date: 1st July 2025
From July 1, 2025, LTA will begin enforcing rules on Pedestrian-Only Paths, specifically banning active mobility devices like bicycles and non-motorized PMDs. Those caught flouting the rules can be fined up to S$2,000 or jailed for up to three months, or both, for a first offence. Repeat offenders face fines of up to S$5,000 or imprisonment of up to six months, or both.
From July 1, 2025, footpaths adjacent to cycling paths that have been converted to pedestrian-only paths will no longer be open to active mobility devices like bicycles and non-motorized PMDs.
